How many sessions do I need ?
The number and frequency of sessions will be determined by you and the Psychologist. Please note that if you have a Mental Health Care plan you can see a psychologist for up to 10 sessions (currently increased to 20 sessions until December 2022) per calendar year through the Medicare system. Private fees will be charged for all additional sessions.
How long is a session?
A standard session with a Psychologist is 50 minutes in duration.
Will I be charged a fee if I fail to attend or cancel an appointment?
Clients failing to attend an appointment without notice will incur $200 cancellation fee. Clients cancelling with less than 48 hours notice will incur a cancellation fee of $100.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
If you would like to claim a rebate from Medicare you will need a referral from your GP. This is known as a “Mental Health Care Plan”. You can see a Psychologist without a referral from your GP. However private fees will apply and you will not be entitled to a rebate from Medicare.
How do I claim my Medicate rebate?
After you pay for your session we will process the Medicare rebate claim electronically on your behalf. Please ensure that your bank account details are registered with Medicare as this will ensure speedy process of your rebate (usually 24-48 hrs). If your bank account details are not yet linked with your Medicare card then please call Medicare on 132 011.
Do you offer bulk-billing?
We do not offer bulk-billing.
